Dear %%user-name%%,

WELCOME TO OUR CSF

WELCOME to Week 11 of our to our Community Supported Fishery (CSF) Spring/Summer Session. The Catch of the Week is delicious Gulf of Maine Haddock! And we have fresh, local Jonah Crabs as an Add on from Southern Maine Crabs, run by 19 year old entrepeneur, Jillian Robillard.

And if you missed us on NH Chronicle last Monday, here is the link to watch the feature:http://www.wmur.com/article/monday-june-18th-nh-community-seafood/21565147.

On NHPR this morning, they reported that the US imported more seafood last year than any other year in history. By supporting our CSF, we can lower that number! Thanks for buying local seafood and supporting our local fishing industry!

HOLDS AND PICK UP LOCATION CHANGES

Please only choose Week 12 and Week 14 to hold and double lobsters. Your shares are pre-priced for both fish and lobster and the two are not interchangable. Hold lobsters for lobsters and fish for fish only, the prices are not the same. Thanks!

You can "hold" your share any week withing the Session that you will not be available to pick up OR any week you do not care for the Catch of the Week. You do your holds through our Member Login system here

Please note, when you pick up a "double" share, you will be getting a double of your share size. For example: 1lb share size picks up 2-1 lb bags, 1/2lb share size gets 2-1/2lb bags. It's really important we get that one right, so everyone gets the correct shares each week!

You can also choose to do a Temporary Pick up Location change, any week you would like to pick up your share at any of our other 23 Pick up Locations. You can do that here, simply choose "Change Pick up Location" from the drop down menu, under the box marked Action.

ADDITIONAL FISH WEEKLY

The Catch of the Week this week is Haddock. Get your Additional Haddock here, please order by tonight at 12pm!

 CATCH OF THE WEEK

ATLANTIC HADDOCK

A cousin to the cod, the popular Haddock spans both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. In our western Atlantic, Haddock can be found from Newfoundland to Cape May, New Jersey. A cold water species, the Haddock is most abundant in the Gulf of Maine and especially offshore on Georges Bank.

Haddock prefer a gravel or rocky bottom and can live up to 10 years old. Grayish-silver in color, with a distinctive black lateral line and black 'thumbprint" along the side, haddock are also easily recognized by their pointed, shark-like, front dorsal fin. This species feeds primarily on mollusks, crustaceans and herring.

KNOW YOUR FISHERMEN

Your Fisherman this Week is NH Fisherman Advocate and Spokesperson, David Goethel, F/V Ellen Diane, Hampton and Fisherman Jamie Hayward, F/V Heidi & Elisabeth, Portsmouth, NH. We also will be relying on a Guest Boat from Portland, F/V Carol Anne II, for the remainder of our Haddock. Both Veterans of the sea, David and Jamie will be providing our Haddock for our CSF and our King Whiting for our RSF.

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

Haddock is incredibly versatile. You can substitute it in almost any fish recipe and it's a staple in New England fish chowder! Baked, grilled, broiled or pan sauteed, you can't lose with Haddock.

Haddock fillets are firm and tender. They are denser than a cod fillet and have a sweet, mild flavor. Most fried fish sandwiches and fish and chips meals you will find in New England are haddock. This is a well managed and abundant New England species and is plentiful in our Gulf of Maine.

Remember the Cardinal Cooking Rule for Fish: Cook fish 10 minutes per inch of fillet thickness! If you use this method, you can never go wrong with any of our fish!
